The 4 horses of the Apocalypse
There seems
to be a lot of confusion and outright misconception concerning the 'four horses
of the Apocalypse' as revealed in Revelation Chapter 6:1-8. Each of the first 4
seals unveils a horse associated with it.
The second
seal unveils a red horse, which is obviously WAR.
The third
seal unveils a black horse which, from the description, is FAMINE.
The fourth
seal unveils a PALE horse which is (directly stated) DEATH.
The first
seal unveils a WHITE horse with a rider and bow (NO arrow- the arrow has already
been shot). THIS first horse has been wrongly interpreted.
Firstly, the horse is WHITE. White always symbolizes PURITY.
The horse and rider are NOT in the same category as the other 3 horses.
WHAT is PURE? The Good news of the Gospel! The rider is Christ,
and the horse bearing Him is the gospel! There is no arrow in the bow because
the gospel has been proclaimed, starting from Jerusalem thence to the uttermost
parts of the earth.
The gospel has always been followed by war, famine, and
death throughout the earth (instigated by Satan) BUT they will never overtake
or stop it!!!
